FALL BACK IN LOVE – Live Virtual Couples Retreats

Two men pose in front of a colorful carousel; one man kisses the other on the head while both smile.

I’ve taken my years of working with couples and turned all of my best insights, tools, and strategies into live virtual couples retreats for that want to get right down to work with each other on what matters most in a relationship. If you both feel confident that you can implement everything learned in our course, I can give you all the tools you need to take your relationship on the brink to something you can’t help but brag about.

This couples retreat program, offered in both a weekly series and an integrative weekend intensive, is designed to do the following:

  1. Bring clarity to both partners’ experience
  2. Reopen your empathy receptors and lines of loving and authentic communication
  3. Assess and address specific opportunities for personal and collective growth
  4. Leave you with a toolkit to support yourselves and your partners through future disconnection

The 8 core principles outlined below will meet you wherever you are in your journey with your partner working with the past, present and future of your relationship. “New relationship energy” is intoxicating and something we all chase, lose, mourn and spend our lives trying to rediscover. Finding the sparks again in a long-term romance is absolutely possible, and I would argue essential, for a lasting, fulfilling partnership. However, it takes an active and intentional commitment to these 8 steps. When you give yourself over to this work, you will have the ability to continue this process on your own long after this couples retreat course is over by:

1. Avoiding fights and fighting fair

Disconnection in relationships can lead to emotional injuries and negative sentiment override, where partners expect hurt from each other. To mitigate this, we will learn tools for quick repairs and establish strategies to maintain connection during conflicts. In this module we learn to recognize that complaints often signal unexpressed requests can also help foster a healthier dynamic. After this module you’ll be able to access honesty, transparency, and vulnerability, with more confidence that they won’t turn into arguments.

2. Addressing ambivalence

Addressing ambivalence in relationships is crucial, as fears of breakups can block open communication and healing. This state triggers attachment panic, undermining repair efforts. Recognizing ambivalence involves acknowledging conflicting feelings and exploring reasons for staying together or separating. If you have big questions about your relationship, I will help you find answers. If not, this first module will make your relationship bulletproof to future ambivalence.

3. Effective repair

Prolonged disconnection in relationships can lead to emotional harm, making repair essential. Differentiating between pain and harm is important, as the latter requires attention. Key steps in the repair process include assessing needs, validating feelings, and fostering accountability. Avoiding pitfalls like shame and blame is crucial for effective communication and healing, ensuring both partners feel supported.

4. Building and rebuilding trust

Trust is a complex and active commitment in relationships, requiring ongoing demonstration through behaviors that reinforce reliability and integrity. It encompasses several components: boundaries, reliability, accountability, confidentiality, integrity, non-judgment, and generosity. Each is essential for fostering open communication and a secure environment. Building and maintaining trust is an ongoing process that deepens connection and understanding between partners.

5. Understanding attachment theory

Attachment theory is essential for understanding relationships, as it examines how early caregiver connections shape our emotional patterns. Attachment styles can be secure or insecure, influencing how we connect with partners. These styles create complex dynamics, often leading to challenges in intimacy. Recognizing that attachment styles can evolve is crucial. Through self-reflection and vulnerability, individuals can work toward healthier relationships. Understanding these dynamics empowers couples to navigate their connections more effectively.

6. Creating a healing context in the relationship

We’ve discussed various aspects of relationships, including conflict management and healing unintentional harm. Understanding trust and attachment theory is key to transforming a relationship into a fundamentally healing space. By focusing on specific elements, couples can enhance their connection and create a more fulfilling partnership. This involves being present for each other, celebrating unique qualities, cultivating emotional awareness, establishing meaningful routines, engaging constructively during conflicts, and prioritizing self-awareness. These components can guide partners toward a deeper, more enriching relationship than they ever imagined.

7. Sex

Learn the essentials of reigniting your sex life and transforming it into a deeply satisfying space of connection and playfulness. Focus on emotional support, balance between mental and physical presence, and prioritize shared pleasure. Open communication and intentionality are key to fostering intimacy and creating a fulfilling sexual relationship.

8. Shared values and integration

As we wrap up our time together, you’ll leave with valuable insights to empower your relationship. We’ll focus on building trust, addressing conflicts, and nurturing intimacy. You’ll explore ways to create guiding agreements that enhance your partnership and support you through challenges. Additionally, we’ll discuss the importance of seeking help when needed. This final session will provide you with tools and a sense of direction for fostering a deeper connection moving forward after this powerful couples retreat course.
